I love to play blues and great covers and this is one that I've often put in my set. B.B. King frequently performed Willie Nelson's 1960 song "Night Life," making it a staple in his career and recording it on albums like
Blues is King (1967) and Love Me Tender (1982). King also performed it live with Willie Nelson and recorded a studio version as a duet with Nelson for King's 1997 album, Deuces Wild. The song, written by Nelson after moving to Pasadena, Texas, describes the dark side of the night life and became a widely covered standard for various artists, including Aretha Franklin and Thin Lizzy.
